内容説明

Featuring nearly 500 illustrations - including some 350 in full-colour - "Atlas of Optic Nerve Disorders" depicts key ophthalmoscopic findings and, as appropirate, confirmatory diagnostic imaging studies, for optic disc swelling, optic atrophy, and a variety of common optic neuropathies. The atlas describes the clinical manifestations and visually documents associated ophthalmoscopic and radiologic findings for: papilledema and pseudopapilledema; pseudo-tumour cerebri; optic atrophy; glaucoma, pseudoglaucoma, and low-tension glaucoma; trauma-associated optic neuropathy; typical and atypical optic neuritis; optic neuritis associated with malnutirion; optic neuritis associated with alcohol and tobacco toxicity; and arteritic and nonarteritic optic neuropathy. Also examined are optic nerve tumours, including orbital tumours, meningiomas, and optic gliomas. It also covers in case-oriented fashion current medical and surgical approaches to the treatment of inflammatory, neoplastic, traumatic, ischemic, and glaucomatous conditions affecting the optic nerve. Clearly delineated are the indications, absolute and relative contraindications, potential complications, and expected outcomes.
