内容説明
The above mentioned meeting was organized with a view to substantially increasing the information currently available to basic scientists (with expertise in blood flow and microcirculation). Together with ophthalmologists, they should then have an interest in applying this knowledge to better diagnose and treat ocular disease. This book is a publication of the proceedings from the meeting.
目次
Preface (R.N. Weinreb). I. Principles of microvascular hemodynamics. 1. Microvascular permeability: role of albumin and glycocalyx (F.E. Curry). 2. Local regulation of blood flow by resistance vessels sensitive to shear rate, stretch and tissue metabolites (H.J. Granger). 3. Regulation of vascular tone (P.M. Hutchins). 4. A novel control of inflammatory edema and neutrophil diapedesis by inhibiting endothelial and pericyte contractions (D. Shepro). 5. Role of ionic mechanisms in activating arterial and arteriolar smooth muscle (D.R. Harder, J.H. Lombard). 6. Microvascular pericyte in the eel rete mirabile (R.C. Wagner, R.A. Buchanan). II. Ocular microvascular hemodynamics. 7. Human ocular microcirculation: Intravital microscopy of retinal and choroid circulations grafted into the cheek pouch of the hamster (W.L. Joyner, et al). 8. The damaging potential of leukocyte activation in the retinal microcirculation (S. Schroder, K. Amdjadi, G.W. Schmid-Schonbein). 9. Heterogeneity in retinal microvascular endothelial cell growth control by pericyte (A. Capetandes, M.E. Gerritsen). 10. Morphological heterogeneity of retinal microvessel basement membrane leaflets: Implications for diabetic retinopathy (E.C. Carlson). 11. Pharmacologic responses of retinal blood vessels (D. Anderson). 12. Optic nerve head microvasculature of the rabbit eye (E.M. Van Buskirk et al.). 13. Microvascular associated extracellular matrix in the lamina cribrosa of the guinea pig (M. Furuta, J. Lindsey, R.N. Weinreb). III. Measurement of ocular blood flow and microcirculation in ocular disease. 14. Digital imaging techniques for measurement of retinal and choroidal blood flow (T. Friberg). 15. Blue field entoptic phenomenon and measurements of retinal hemodynamics (J. Grunwald). 16. Fluorecein angiography and the microcirculation of the retina and choroid (T. Friberg). 17. Laser Doppler velocimetry studies of retinal hemodynamics in diabetes mellitus (J. Grunwald). 18. The possible role of microcirculation in glaucoma (R.N. Weinset). Glaucoma Discussion (R.N. Weinreb et al.). 19. Macular degeneration and its possible relationship to microcirculation (T. Friberg).
