A comprehensive international review of approximately 8,000 species of weeds, compiling geographic distributions for the countries or areas where a species is known to occur as a weed of serious, principal, common, or unknown seriousness (ranking provided by a weed scientist from that country), or where it is present in the general flora but not known to act as a weed. Updates all taxonomy, uses scientific (Latin) names throughout, brings nomenclature into agreement with present-day usage, and gives up to three of the most common synonyms for each plant. The preface and key to the codings for countries and areas are given in 10 major languages so that virtually anyone can use the book.
