Description and Table of Contents
Description
This book includes some of the main lectures given at the Nato Advanced Study Institute which was held in Bonas, France in 1978. The book is organized in 4 sections: Filtering, Neighbor- hood Operators, Discrete and Probabilistic Relaxation, and Appli- cations. Because digital filtering is well understood we cover it only briefly. The section on Boolean Neighborhood Operators restricts itself to handling only those suitable in a highly paral- lel hardware implementation. The section on Discrete and Probabil- istic Relaxation presents material which has been recently intro- duced into digital image processing. Applications include various matching processes as well as cooperative algorithms for edge en- hancement and clustering. The final section on applications in- cludes a variety of topics in remote sensing, physics, medicine, and clustering. VII TABLE OF CONTENTS I.
