This work is largely, but not exclusively, concerned with oxidative bioconversive prodecures. It is aimed at the organic chemist who is unaware that bioconversions can be used as a synthetic procedure or who is suspicious of such techniques as being too biological. Included are chapters on bioconversions, new developments in this area, the major reactions of oxidative bioconversion (carbon hydroxylation) and the application of these reactions, and many others, in the preparation of organic compounds. The book should be of interest to organic chemists, enzymologists, bioinorganic chemists, biochemists and detergent chemists.
