内容説明

This volume provides over 25 chapters of expert guidance on the practical uses of electrical and magnetic stimulation of the brain and spinal cord. The book presents a complete examination of the physiologic principles and methodologic issues involved, highlighting diagnostic as well as preventive procedures. Among the topics addressed are electrical stimulation with depth electrodes to evoke seizures; functional mapping of motor-sensory areas; use of subdural grids in functional mapping; motor evoked potentials in diagnosis of neurologic disorders and assessment of cortical reorganisation; magnetic stimulation in neurologic disorders; and the many applications of electrical stimulation for pain control, epilepsy, coma, spasticity, and bladder and sexual functioning.
