内容説明

The transformation of financial and commercial services in the period 1750-1914 has conventionally been viewed as a response to the more revolutionary changes taking place in the productive processes. The Industrial Revolution involved above all a growing scale of activity and interaction between supply and demand in the market place. As such the facilities that allowed must be seen as playing a central role in the whole process. The creation of railway, steamship and telegraph systems, as well as financial and commercial networks, could thus be viewed as the developments from which all other changes orientated.
