内容説明

How do the complex power relations within educational institutions and management affect women? In this work, the authors draw on their research and own experience to explore the contradictions and compromises faced by women working in education. In particular, they examine the areas of conflict between feminism and the male-defined power structures of educational organizations. The authors consider the female experience of management (which they suggest is different from the male experience) and women's ambivalent attitude to power as an issue for feminists both in classrooms and in senior management positions. They reveal the positive influences on institutions of female and feminist educational managers and document their humour, strengths and achievements.
