Vascular diseases account for about half of all deaths, illnesses and suffering the world over. The effective clinical management of these conditions must be based on sound knowledge of the pathology. "Vascular Pathology" provides a comprehensive, well-illustrated and up-to-date text on this subject. Early chapters cover the topography and adpatation of the circulatory system, congenital anomalies, thrombosis, trauma, connective tissue proteins and metabolic disorders. These are followed by several chapters dealing firstly with degenerative biochemistry, histochemistry, immunochemistry and inflammatory aspects of atherosclerosis, and secondly general chapters covering atheroembolism, aneurysms, cerebrovascular disease, arteriovenous communications, and diseases of veins and lymphatics. Two chapters covering systemic and pulmonary hypertension are followed by sections dealing with vasculitis and diagnostic techniques. The final chapters deal with neoplasia.
