Description and Table of Contents
Description
Developed from a symposium sponsored by the Division of Carbohydrate Chemistry at the 206th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, Chicago, Illinois, August 22-27, 1993, this volume discusses the production of polymers from sustainable and renewable agricultural resources. It includes overviews discussing the rationale and the status of the technology used to produce degradable polymers. The book reviews the characterization, synthesis, modification and isolation of specific groups of polymers and polymeric materials, including starches, starch blends, composites, other polysaccharides, oligosacchirides, monosaccharides, polyamides, proteins, polyesters and rubbers.
