内容説明

The objective of this volume is to present a detailed overview of the economics of technological change in all its various dimensions. The presentation places some emphasis upon analytical rigour while at the same time drawing out main themes and arguments. The book contains a set of free-standing but interdependent papers by leading authorities in the field on the major topic areas that make up the literature. The various contributions are built upon an assumption that the average reader will already have some familiarity with standard macro- and microeconomics, but even so takes the reader to the boundaries of the subject by illustrating where our knowledge ends and where further research opportunities exist. The potential audience for this volume is seen as researchers and academics working in the field of technological change, graduates and undergraduates following courses on the economics of technological change, graduates and undergraduates taking courses in industrial organization, PhD students considering research in the area of technological change, civil servants and economic advisers concerned with issues of science and technology policy, and any interested party who wishes to be either introduced to or gain insight into a subject area that is at the same time of both great policy importance and of great excitement.
