Description
This reference book presents gas and liquid viscosity, thermal conductivity and diffusion co-efficients as functions of temperature for a wide range of organic compounds, including hydrocarbons, oxygenates, halogenates and sulphur derivatives among the many chemical types. Viscosity and thermal conductivity properties are important in many engineering applications in the chemical processing and petroleum refining industries. Diffusivity (diffusion co-efficient) is the fundamental property involved in calculating the overall mass transfer co-efficient. The data provided in convenient tabular format is arranged by carbon number to enable the engineer to locate compounds quickly using the chemical formula and determine values at desired temperatures using a personal computer or hand calculator. Chapters on viscosity of gas and liquids, thermal conductivity of gas and liquids and diffusion co-efficient in air and water, each contain the correlation equation, tabulation of values for organic compounds C1 through C38, and calculation examples and computer program results. The compilation is based on both experimental data and estimated values using standard methods and equations.
