内容説明

Sponsored by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the International Ergonomics Association (IEA), the Japanese Association of Industrial Health, the Japanese Ergonomics Research Society and the Association of Employment Development for Senior Citizens, this text is based upon a meeting that aimed to respond to the challenge of the aging of society. Improved lifestyles and environments and advances in medical care mean that people can now pursue an active working life beyond traditional parameters. This socio-economic revitalisation can only be possible if issues of productivity, safety, health, performance and work design are addressed. This meeting - and the proceedings derived from it - marked a gathering of leading scientists from a diversity of disciplines who identify and offer multilinear solutions to the many problems associated with a world-wide aging workforce. Specific topics covered by the text include: disease; health promotion programmes; safety measures; work (re)design; job adaption; and human resource management.
