内容説明

Intended for students and practitioners who already have a knowledge of programming in a high-level language, this book will quickly enable the reader to program effectively in Ada. Offering more than a description of the features of the language, Leguy describes and explains the broad range of concepts behind it. This is achieved by the use of numerous example programs, both large and small, which are fully documented and commented. In particular, types and their control mechanisms are examined in detail. Exceptions, packages, tasks and generics are also studied in depth, again supported by many examples. In addition, files and the problems of input/output receive due attention. In those cases where the similarities with older languages are close, appropriate comparisons with older languages are made. At the same time, the dangers of certain "false friends" are pointed out. Emphasis is placed on acquiring good habits in the use of notation and layout, in order to exploit Ada's advantages of readability, re-usability and security. Each chapter ends with a summary.
