Description and Table of Contents
Description
This is a collection of essays from the Flood Hazard Research Centre of Middlesex Polytechnic which brings together economists and geographers with philosophers and environmental managers to examine and debate the complex answer to the deceptively simple question: "What is the environment worth?" Throughout, the emphasis is on practical problems and the need for informed decision-making. Research-based examples are quoted to illustrate often complex arguments. The focus is particularly - but not exclusively - on wildlife resources at coastal sites.
