Description
Ultrafast spectroscopy of semiconductors is an exciting area of research in condensed matter physics. Recent progress in the generation of tunable femtosecond pulses has allowed direct investigation of some of the most fundamental dynamical processes in semiconductors. This book presents some recent advances in the field of ultrafast spectroscopy of semiconductors and their microstructures. After a brief overview of the recent advances in the techniques of ultrashort pulse generation and ultrafast spectroscopy, it discusses the physics of relaxation processes following the excitation of a semiconductor by femtosecond laser pulses.
