内容説明
'Essential Paediatric Surgery' is a highly practical guide for the General Surgeon having to treat children with surgical problems. The book covers all the common conditions which might be encountered and describes their operative management in detail, with emphasis placed on how to avoid common mistakes, and how to manage unexpected or unusual situations. In addition, it provides an update for General surgeons who see infants and children with surgical (including neonatal) emergencies.
The book covers both elective and emergency situations, and gives clear guidelines as to when referral to a specialist centre or specialist paediatric surgeon is required. It gives recommendations as to what type of treatment should be initiated immediately, and under which circumstances, particularly in neonates with major congenital abnormalities.
