内容説明

This book is part of the "Everyman" series which has been re-set with wide margins and easy-to-read type. It includes a selection of Stevenson's travel writing, reflecting his development both as a writer and an observer of life. Stevenson's first book, "An Inland Voyage", is an account of a journey by canoe along the canals and rivers of Belgium and France. "Travels With a Donkey" follows a tour of the Cevennes in the company of Modestine, a donkey whose character competes with the French countryside for the reader's attention. Finally, "The Silverado Squatters" recalls Stevenson's honeymoon in a log cabin amid a mining community in the mountains of San Francisco.
