Description and Table of Contents

Description

The first edition of French's Index, published over 80 years ago, aimed to help the clinician in the differential diagnosis of any condition encountered in any medical specialty or surgery, that may be seen in general or hospital practice. For this 13th edition that aim remains the same. Completely revised, with new editors, new contributors and new illustrations, French's Index is as essential for today's doctors as it has been for those of previous generations. The earliest possible diagnosis of a patient's disease is desirable, and it is important for the physician to be able to differentiate between the various diseases to which the presenting symptoms may be due. In this respect, French's Index has no parallel. Arranged alphabetically and based on the symptoms with which patients present to the physician, it offers a succinct and well-illustrated aide-memoire which will be invaluable to the undergraduate in the clinical years and to trainee and established doctors in general and hospital practice. Completely revised, with new editors, new contributors and new illustrations, French's Index is as essential for today's doctors as it has been for those of previous generations.
