内容説明
This is an account of progress in the field of quantum, classical and atomic physics, by a number of researchers. The first part of the text highlights the advances in semiclassical theory, whilst the second part is devoted to applications to atomic systems. The authors present the material in pedagogical form to make it easy reading for non-specialists, too. Among the topics treated are: a quasiclassical quantization scheme for Hamiltonian dynamics; an application of the semi-classical formalism to photodissociation of small molecules and to the Lorentz gas; and discussions of tunnelling corrections. There are also papers on chaotic ionization, and on the behaviour of hydrogen atoms in external fields.
