Description
This text presents a selection of papers from an international conference dedicated to field and service applications of robotics. The papers come from research laboratories and companies that are building and selling robotic technology. Aspects from robotics ranging from mining, agriculture, construction, cargo handling, subsea operations, and the removal of landmines, to terrestrial exploration are described. The text also covers a range of service applications, such as cleaning, propagation plants and aiding the elderly and handicapped, and looks at the technology required to realise robust, reliable and safe robots.
