The sections listed include: exercise and its physical, social, and psychological benefits and risks; physiology and nutrition; medical issues; and musculoskeletal issues. It is a joint publishing effort of the American Academy of Orthopeadic Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is an extension of two texts published independently by the two organizations.
