Description

The 2002 "World Investment Report" specifically examines the role of transnational corporations (TNCs) in making the exports of developing and transition countries more competitive. Such competitiveness is seen in today's globalizing world economy as essential for the achievement of sustained growth. The report highlights trends and strategies used to this end. It is noted that for the first time since UNCTAD started collecting data on the largest TNCs, a record five firms headquartered in developing economies made it to the top 100 list for 2000.
