内容説明
Considered as the foundation for next-generation dentistry research, Interface Oral Health Science is based on a new concept - that healthy oral function is built on biological and biomechanical harmony among three systems: "oral tissue such as teeth, mucosa, bone, and muscle (host)", parasitic microorganisms in the oral cavity (parasite), and biological materials (biomaterials). This concept not only encompasses the domain of dentistry and clarifies the identity of dental research, it is also believed to translate to a wide range of academic fields that deal with interfaces such as medicine, agriculture, material science and pharmacology. In other words, the practice of Interface Oral Health Science will not only clarify the identity of dentistry by revitalizing unique dental research, but also aims to make dental research universal by revitalizing interdisciplinary research with fields related to dentistry.
This book is the result of The International Symposium for Interface Oral Health Science, held in Japan. A two day symposium containing three symposiums related to the three interfaces, ie., biochemical-biological interface, host-parasite interface and biomaterial-biological interface as well as a poster session which attracted 75 submissions from Japan and abroad.
Interface Oral Health Science is aimed at researchers in dental sciences, dental clinicians and dental workers. Researchers interested in dental sciences from the medical fields of life sciences and material sciences will also find this book of interest.
