Description

The Dictionary of Greek and Latin Authors and Texts gives a clear overview of authors and Major Works of Greek and Latin literature, and their history in written tradition, from Late Antiquity until present: papyri, manuscripts, Scholia, early and contemporary authoritative editions, translations and comments. The structure of this work allows easy orientation and quick reference for titles, dates, written tradition and editions for approximately 250 authors from Homer to Late Antiquity: not only the poets, writers and philosophers, but also the scholars of the different fields and early Christianity. The contributions are presented in chronological order and references to the articles of the New Pauly are included. This reference work can thus be used both independently and in conjunction with Brill's New Pauly.
