Rajendra Bhatia has written several expository articles for renowned journals like The American Mathematical Monthly; Mathematical Intelligencer and Resonance. These elementary articles have often spurred research papers by other authors. On the other hand, some of his research articles present major ideas in such a simple way that they can be profitably read by beginners. This volume contains a selection of such articles compiled by the editors.
The articles, on a variety of topics in analysis and linear algebra, can be read as introductions to interesting ideas. They can also be used as a basis for projects and masters dissertations, and for workshops and refresher courses for college teachers.
