Description
This is a revised version of the earlier text. The existing chapters on the geography of the United States, the American city, and the constitution and government of the United States have, at the request of their authors, been replaced by new chapters on those subjects by different scholars. Two wholly new chapters have been introduced, on race in the history of the United States and on the media. All the other chapters have been revised to take account, as necessary, of recent events in US affairs and changes in attitudes.
