This is part of a 16 volume thematic encyclopedia on vision covering all research aspects of this mutidisciplinary field by 300 contributors from around the world. Each volume is extensively referenced, illustrated and indexed. The articles relate the current state of our knowledge and areas of continuing advancement and will be updated in additional volumes every five years.
