内容説明
This book is about modern western European societies. It is concerned both with the individual national societies that go to make up western Europe and with the potential unity of these societies. This book of specially commissioned essays by British sociologists can be seen as contributing to a sociology of, for and in Europe. It does not attempt to be comprehensive; for instance there is no explicit treatment of poverty or of culture. But it does try to lay out some of the most basic conditions and consequences of major social changes taking place now across Europe.
