内容説明

"The Blackwell Encyclopedia of Modern Christian Thought" covers the period 1700 to the present day, dealing with all aspects of Christian thought in the modern period. It contains articles, giving direct access to significant Christian thinking during and since the Enlightenment, with full bibliographical support for further reading. Although the encyclopedia concentrates principally upon modern systematic theology, it devotes attention to the following fields: aesthetic theory; art; biblical interpretation; culture; economics; ethics; literature; liturgy; philosophy; politics; social thought; and sociology. The book is integrated alphabetically, but a structural plan of its coverage should enable the reader to identify items relating to any specific field or fields of interest. A second volume is in preparation, to cover the medieval, Renaissance and Reformation periods, from approximately 1000 - 1700.
