内容説明
Based on the annual neurological research symposium of the University of Montreal, this volume reviews theoretical and experimental research on consciousness and cognitive neuroscience. It begins with a look at consciousness - its problems, electrophysiology, neuroanatomy and neurochemistry. Next, it studies consciousness as a function, reviewing different levels and states of consciousness across the sleep-waking cycle; thalamocorticol coherence and consciousness; language contrivance on consciousness; and contributions of human brain mapping. The sections that follow explore contents of consciousness and models of conscious experience, addressing evolutionary perspectives on conscious behaviour, visual responses in awake monkeys, the integration of information in the brain, and more.
