Description
This book considers a number of concerns regarding the multilateral trading system established under the World Trade Organization (WTO) and its implications for the environment and the interests of developing countries. This second edition of the publication provides an overview of the key issues for discussion at future rounds of multilateral negotiations, both in the light of the failed WTO negotiations in Seattle in 2000 and as a result of the Meeting of Trade Ministers held in Qatar in 2001. It contains contributions by experts from academia, government and civil society, which elaborate the concerns of both developing countries and environmentalists and aim to promote policy development in this field.
